So recently I have been hearing quite a view stories from fellow DeviantArtists about "drama" that's occurring all over this site. I feel pretty thankful that I have thus far been spared, but it has made me very angry that this is happening.
When I first joined DeviantArt, I struggled, it took me a while to understand the community, and really reach people. Since then I have been involved in scavenger hunts, met some really great people, and have been able to establish relationships with other artists. I fell in love with DeviantArt. It's never been about the pageviews to me, it's been about connecting with others, and learning new things. I am always growing, always learning, and I appreciate having a community of people to support me through this.
However, lately it seems this site has been becoming more and more like MySpace, and Facebook. People aren't here to appreciate art, they're here to have their egos stroked, or to provoke arguments, or simply to criticize others. I thought we were artists! I thought we were a community! What's with all of the negativity??????
I think that we, as DeviantArtists, need to take a stand against these types of people. We don't need people who don't have anything positive to add to the community, we need people who are here to better themselves, and their art, to get exposure, and to help others. I am so tired of hearing stories from people that I'm watching about others who are attacking them, or their friends, or people who are stealing their art. Why is this happening? Is this simply a symptom of the way people are evolving throughout the world, or is this a DeviantArt problem?
February 25th is the national day to take a stand against bullying.
[link]I hope that collectively we can take a stance against the cyber bullying that is occurring on this site, stand united, and let these people know that we won't tolerate this type of behaviour.
Lets reclaim the DeviantArt community, lets celebrate the true DeviantArt spirit.
The fate of the world is in our hands..........

What amazes me is how surprised I still am at human behaviour. I just don't understand why people spend so much energy being mean, and spreading negativity, when they could be using that energy towards something way more positive!
I would rather know when I go to sleep that I was the best person I could be that day, then raise my self-esteem at the expense of someone else's. I would rather hurt myself, then ever inflict pain on someone else.
Sometimes I cry because I think of all of the horrible things, and horrible people in this world, and I wish there were more I could do. I wish I could protect everyone, every living thing.

Dont worry trying to understand people who find the pleasure of harming others also puzzles me... yes positive energy is love and its light too
Yes i feel the same way too, also i can feel others pain to .I too I would rather hurt myself, then ever inflict pain on someone else.
same (((hugs))) i feel the same way too, when i see people and animals on TV get hurt and destroyed.. then even plants and trees destroyed. I feel the same way, I just dont have the all the magical powers to protect it all
I wish people would stop and look and listen , listen to the children crying the mothers crying when in war. The people crying the peaople dying in poverty of it all. The trees falling the the grass drying , the earth dying as it gets trangled for its resources, the animals crying the ice melting the the weather crying...
people stop and listen and feel beyond there fingers can feel, see beyond what there eyes can see and hear beyond what there ears can hear and feel it all from inside out.
Then i think people would understand the life , the universe and True Love and all that follows
